Diversity in food matters.
I love learning about the cuisines of people who are not like me, and I love learning to cook food from people who are not like me. Food is never just food. Food comes from people, so it’s also important to honor them, to learn about their unique histories and experiences, and to genuinely seek to understand them. That’s why the content here will never just be about unfamiliar ingredients or new flavor combinations.
I want Brooklyn Cookbookery to be a safe space for ALL cooks and food lovers. Blogging is new territory for me, so please, correct me if I get something wrong. I will continue to do the work to educate myself and to be a better ally.
